Stuka Ju87B-2

This is modelled on an aircraft of 4/St G. 2, that is 4th. Gruppe of Stukageschwader 2, operating in Libya June 1941.  Credit should also go to Marc Plummer for finishing the covering and paintwork.

It is quite an impressive beast and a rarely modelled subject, and I know the reason why. It was a lesson in tenacity. It took a period of four years to build and every bit was a trial. There's no centre line as a datum anywhere on the fuselage, the fuselage starts off ovoid in one axis and ends up ovoid in the perpendicular axis, the nose droops, the gull wings, split flaps, about nine servos.

Sounds great on the four stroke. Now so precious it's a bit of a hanger queen, but when flying well, it does what it does in full size, tucks it's nose in on the turn, and you need the full flaps to land.

The flying shots were taken on test flight day, by my late father-in-law, a great friend, so all in all, a bit special

Happiness is a dive run ... no I haven't managed a trombone of Jericho ....siren

Regards Robin
